This should provoke a calm, rational conversation...

West Ham United Statement: London Stadium capacity

West Ham United and its landlord E20 have today agreed a plan which allows the Club to sell additional seats for their matches thereby ending the litigation surrounding the capacity at the London Stadium.

Both parties are delighted to have taken the first step towards the Stadium reaching its potential of up to 66,000 capacity, to their mutual benefit, and would see it become the largest in London and the second largest in the Premier League. The increase in capacity will also make the London Stadium a more attractive proposition for a potential naming rights partner.

The arrangement means that, subject to regulatory permissions, the Club will be able to sell up to 60,000 tickets for their games as soon as possible and leaves scope to expand up to 66,000 seats for future matches.

The agreement brings with it more funding for E20 and significant additional revenue for West Ham United on matchdays - a deal that works for everyone.

West Ham is proud that it already has the highest number of season ticket holders in London and this agreement gives the Club the chance to reward thousands of fans who have waited patiently on its waiting list.

Lyn Garner, CEO of E20 and Karren Brady, Vice Chairman of West Ham United, said: “West Ham United and E20 will now work together to maximise this magnificent Stadium for the benefit of fans, our community and the public purse. Both parties are fully committed to making the London Stadium the jewel in London’s crown that we all know it can be.”

Any old iron.

Can you imagine arsenal, Chelsea, sp*rs or man u getting their crowds if they'd been though the decades of shit that we've put up with?
Winning fuck all, relegations, the board, no investment, selling off the best players, fuck knows how many false dawns and the amount of shit football we've seen over the years.

Quite simply.... No.

Re: Capacity Increased to 60,000 / 66,000
I've always known that our club had massive potential in terms of its following, but in all honesty I never, ever thought I'd see the day when we'd get 60,000 for a cup game versus a 2nd division club. Just look at the terrible crowds elswhere last weekend and that gate must make other clubs supporters finally realise how big West Ham are.

Yes, I know tickets were cheap (relatively) but it still amazed me that so many would pitch up for such a game.

What sort of crowds could we get if we were playing in a proper football stadium. What would we need, 70k, 80k???

Re: Capacity Increased to 60,000 / 66,000
So, this is it.
This coming Saturday we will set yet another record crowd. On or around 60,000 will watch a West Ham United home game.

If you'd told me in the 1974/75 cup winning season in the future we would be playing infront of average crowds above 35K I would have said you are mad.

30K was a decent gate, 40K was extremely rare, 60K was more than any team in England could muster

Will you be part of it?

We could have 100'000 ..it won't make any difference until we get closer to the pitch and be able to give the away team (and our own if we are playing shit a load of grief).....look at our record at this shit stadium...particually against top teams....we lose 4 or5 to to none ....at Upton park we gave them a game at least.....I've been a regular since 65 and never felt so fucking depressed.

Mark the rib man is doing his nut as the LLDC have stopped him from operating anywhere other than on the stadium island where he has to hand over 30% of his earnings.

Did you ever go down Green St, 11MDE.

There were loads of places to eat there, and the view from the station all the way to the ground was marvellous, and the one from inside just beautiful. I can't give you a park as such, but hey.

I have to say, although I would not want to go there every home game (I find the walk there and leaving etc a bit of a chore), when we play well like we did when we beat Man utd there is nothing wrong with the place.
